Great print designs from Alvin Diec. Feels like coming across some vintage packaging
at an antique shop.

wine bottle windows

Such a great window treatment/shutter system. Designed by Czech design studio Aulik
Fiser Architekti
for the Red Pif Restaurant and Wine Bar in Prague (sorry, couldn't find
a working link). Love how they work with the fat and skinny shape of the wine bottles to
create a solid surface. Such a sharp solution.

Flora and Fauna World Wisdom

(via YouTube)

Been having some great conversations lately with a good friend about listening and the
"soul" of design and thought this succinct interview from John Jay, creative director of
the always brilliant Wieden Kennedy, said what we were thinking, but, waay more
articulately. Man, wish we could communicate like that. And, thought it was so smart
that we had to share it.

Anyway, came across it while browsing the site of Minnesota design studio Florafauna.
Check out their spot on clever and beautiful posters.

Maurice Scheltens

Great still life photos from Dutch photographer Maurice Schelten. Simple perfect layout
and color. Not sure why, but all the products look like candy.

Miss Van

(image via MissVan)

Earlier, our friend Kyle Steed dropped by and introduced us to the amazing design and
culture magazine King Brown from Australia (will definitely be getting a subscription).
And totally FLIPPED OUT over the work of the mega talented French-born Barcelona-
based painter and graffiti artist Vanessa Alice B. Seriously twisted and sticky sweet
stuff. Love it so much. (Also, If you like her work, check out Carrie Chau (a personal fav)
from Hong Kong.)

Floating in a Cloud... of Hats

(image via YellowTrace)

Can you imagine standing/floating amid a more magical and ethereal art exhibition?
From Canadian born Japanese artists Oki Sato (go check out his work!) this installation
celebrates Japanese milliner Hirata Akio. Man, would love to see this in person.
