Lockets developed out of talisman jewelry worn to ward off evil spirits. They came to signify: love, honor, a pledge of allegiance, a symbol of mourning, a commitment or a window to the past. Lockets have been used to carry: powder, miniature portraits, ashes, herbal remedies, poison and perfume-soaked fabric.
Amano Studio is a small woman owned jewelry brand and zero waste production studio in the Valley of the Moon. Their designers are inspired by vintage fashion, the night sky, and the beauty of the California landscape. They use recycled, vintage, and repurposed metals and materials whenever possible and strive to source the majority of their materials in the US.
