Rashida’s artistic journey began with fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City before transitioning to fabric and surface design. Her self-taught skills in digital illustration and a passion for textiles led her to co-found Cotton+Steel Fabrics and become a lead designer at Ruby Star Society. Her fabrics and patterns are beloved for their dynamic blend of whimsy and sophistication.

Beyond her design work, Rashida is also the author of two award-winning sewing books, I Love Patchwork and Zakka Style, which showcase her approach to modern sewing and crafting. Her work has been featured by notable brands and publications such as Target, Flow Magazine, Moda Fabrics, and Hazel Village.
