Methane Studios

Methane Studios, co-founded by Mark McDevitt and Robert Lee in 1998, is an Atlanta-based illustration and design studio renowned for its hand-crafted, screen-printed posters. Initially working out of a garage, McDevitt and Lee began creating silkscreen posters for local music venues, drawing inspiration from classic American design elements such as vintage advertising, movie posters, and rock-and-roll iconography. The two founders, who met at Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, bonded over a love for illustration and have developed a distinct aesthetic that combines nostalgia with a modern edge.

Over the years, Methane Studios has grown its reputation in the art and music scenes, producing work for high-profile clients like Honda, Turner Broadcasting, and prominent bands like Dave Matthews Band and Phish. Their art often conveys a narrative quality, aiming to provoke thought and capture attention through bold colors, unique textures, and layered compositions.
