Collection: Mylan Nguyen

Mylan Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Mexican American artist from Dallas, Texas, whose work spans ceramics, illustration, printmaking, and installations. She received her BFA in Illustration from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and later studied ceramics in Japan, training at studios like Jic Ceramic Studio in Shibuya. Currently, Mylan is a co-founder of Strange Powers Press, a Dallas-based risograph printing studio focused on small, illustrated editions.

Her art is known for its playful characters and imaginative narratives, exploring themes of magic, healing, and cultural interconnectedness. A notable work, Nahualito, is an installation inspired by Mesoamerican folklore about shape-shifting beings called Nahuales, reflecting her multicultural heritage and the dualities of identity. Mylan has also contributed to Dallas’s art community through workshops at venues like the Nasher Sculpture Center, The Latino Cultural Center, and Oak Cliff Cultural Center, further establishing her as a versatile and influential figure in contemporary art​.
