Eew, Boys! Letterpress Print | Liana Finck (NY)

Three lines, hand-lettered in the middle of a wobbly frame: “Eew, boys!” then “OMG, guys!” then “Ugh, men.” Liana Finck lets the punctuation tell the story, with the excitement double-underlined in the first two lines and drained down to a flat period by the third. It is a whole dating life, from playground to group chat to resignation, in six words.

Hang it where friends will catch it and laugh in recognition. Finck has drawn cartoons for The New Yorker since 2015, and this one does in six words what most essays take pages to say.
