Frida Linocut Print | Jack Russell (TX)

Frida Kahlo stands at the center of a dreamscape that could have come from one of her own canvases: a smiling sun and crescent moon, a cherub, little skeletons and a road stretching off through the cactus. Jack Russell carves her as both icon and folk saint, framed by swirling scrollwork.

It is one of his most detailed blocks, and it rewards a long look. For the Frida devotee, the painter, or anyone who likes their art history with a little surrealism.
