Tote bags on their shoulders and a paw on the door, a tabby and a black cat head out for the day. Ittekimasu is what you say on the way out in Japan — literally, “I’ll go and come back” — and Linnan Ye’s cats sign off with a simple “See you later.”
Hang it near the front door, slip it into a lunchbox, or send it to someone starting a new chapter. A small goodbye that promises a return.
