Inspired by the storied charm of Fontainebleau, Napoleon’s Garden brings together wildflower meadows and royal history in a vivid burst of color and memory. Malti first visited the town just south of Paris with her husband, drawn in by its warm, lived-in beauty — the food, the markets, the way it invites you to explore it slowly. But it was the visit to Château de Fontainebleau that truly left an imprint. Once a royal residence passed from kings to Napoleon himself, the château’s elegant architecture and storied past still seem to hum beneath the surface of the town.
This piece blends the natural and the historic — golden coneflowers bloom at the foot of regal towers, while a radiant sky swirls with color and energy. It’s a painting that celebrates contrast: the cultivated and the wild, the remembered and the reimagined.
