The Rosette Nebula, the flower-shaped cloud of gas and dust drifting in the constellation Monoceros, painted as a round window into deep space. Indigo and violet sweep into rose, copper and amber at the glowing center, with scattered stars and one bright point of light near the top. The circular image floats on a clean white square sheet, a look that gives the cosmos a little breathing room. By Oklahoma City oil painter Trisha Thompson Adams.
