A dark scarab beetle seen from above, its glossy shell opening onto a glowing nebula of teal, gold and umber, flecked with tiny stars, all set against a soft warm-grey ground. It's a small creature carrying an entire galaxy on its back, painted with the careful, specimen-style attention that Oklahoma City oil painter Trisha Thompson Adams is known for in her bones-and-blooms anatomy work.
