In a Japanese home, the rice bowl (gohan-jawan) is the most personal dish in the cupboard. Everyone has their own, and it's the one bowl nobody swaps. This one belongs to a dog person: shibas in green bandanas sit around the outside between paw prints, in red, black-and-tan and white, and two more are waiting in blue at the bottom of the bowl.
At 10 ounces it's a true rice bowl size, and it does miso soup just as well.
