Cut from mountain cherry grown in Tsukechi, a small woodworking town in Gifu Prefecture known for supplying sacred timber to the Ise Grand Shrine. Every step, from raw log to finished coaster, happens at a single sawmill in the village, with each piece cut to waste as little of the tree as possible.
The edges are gently softened, the SALIU logo is branded on one side, and the hard, resin-free cherry resists scratches while slowly deepening to a warm amber with use. Set a teacup on it, or use it as a tiny plate for a sweet.
